Mahindra Gesco was the first pure play SEZ stock to be listed on the Indian stock exchanges. Now Adani's promoted Mundra Port and Special Economic Zone Ltd has filed for Draft Red Herring Prospectus with SEBI for an IPO. The IPO is expected to raise $300 Million. The proceeeds of the IPO will be utilized in further development and modernization of the SEZ.
With the recent meltdown of Property and Construction stocks, the sailing will be extremely rough for the Adanis.

I recently went to Gujarat to the Mundra region for some community work and all the fishermen I met there were slowly coming to terms what the SEZ means to them....gentlemen, a port of 700 households with no drinking water and no electricity and Mr. Adani's factories coming up nearby, is quite an irony...apparently this Adani chap has quite a reputation in this side of town, for environmental abuse, reduction of livestock because of no vegetation, livelihood of fishermen is in danger because of water pollution, land is being grabbed...and so the story goes on...somebody should stop this man before he ruins everybody's life there...terrible
